Subhodeep Banerjee, Ph. D.

Dr. Subhodeep Banerjee is working as an ORISE Research Fellow at NETL. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016. His doctoral thesis focused on numerical analysis of the performance of fluidized bed reactors for chemical looping combustion. He had received his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Southern California in 2011 and his B.S. from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2009.

His primary research interests lie in the field of carbon capture, utilization and storage. He is currently working on simulating spout-fluidized beds at different scales using MFiX to study the multiphase flow behavior for chemical looping applications.
