Angle of Repose test

Hi, I am trying to increase a simulation sample’s AoR. I tried changing every DEM parameter including inserting a rolling friction in the code, but I cannot get more than 30 degree AoR. Any suggestion?

Do you have any reference that shows the AoR can larger than 30 degree for sphere?

It may be unrealistic, but I need AoR of 40-45 degrees.

From your problem, have you tried increasing the different frictions and see if you are able to achieve this? The following article explains the effect of different frictions on repose angles: An experimental and numerical study of the angle of repose of coarse spheres - ScienceDirect

One other option is to try disabling the rotations (or reducing rotational velocities by a factor) of particles and see if it helps.
