Hello everyone,
I am currently using MFIX-TFM to simulate the flow within a fluidized bed that contains vertical tube internals. How to Achieve Smooth Edge Meshing for Cylinders Using Cut-Cell Method
During my simulations, I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon where bubble surfaces develop what looks like burr-like structures as they pass over the surface of the vertical tubes, much akin to spikes or irregular protrusions. This is illustrated in the image below. For both the gas and solid phases, I have implemented no-slip wall conditions.
Is this a normal observation within such simulations? Could these burr-like surface irregularities significantly affect the dynamic behavior and characteristics of the bubbles? If this isn’t desirable, are there any recommended approaches or adjustments to mitigate or prevent such occurrences?
Thank you for your insights and advice in advance!
Best regards,
