For a fluidized bed I would like to get an overall picture of the gas velocity field (particularly above the bed itself). Is this possible to do with MFiX? I know from other CFD software that this is possible by adding a custom source term, but couldn’t find something exactly similar by searching the docs.
You can either use Paraview to get the contours of the averaged gas velocity field or alternatively you can make use of postmfix processing tool.

Thanks. You mean “contours of averaged gas velocity field” would work for a whole time series in Paraview?
Postmfix also looks like an option. But is it possible to import an averaged field variable into Paraview to examine it visually?
