Hi @cgw and MFiX Team, greetings. Is it possible to define and calculate on new scalar value (s) as field on boundary? Assume transient MFiX-TFM flow within straight 3-D square channel. On one of channel’s boundary, say RIGHT, I want to extract solid phase’s volume fraction and feed these values into new scalar field, say, myAlpha field, for further calculation, thereafter, plot this field within MFiX GUI? Solid phase’s velocity is zero on wall boundary but can we get first cell’s velocity components too? Please let me know. Thank you,
What have you tried so far? Can you attach your case (Main menu → Submit bug report)
Hi @cgw, thank you for getting back to me. Please find below image showing my attempt on representative geometry.
+) As shown in image, can we define new scalar field ‘MyAlphaOnConePatch’ within MFiX-TFM and visualize it under VTK tab during transient and after run? ‘MyAlphaOnConePatch‘ is simple algebraic equation in ‘EP_G’, solid phase velocity on ‘ConePatch‘.
+) I’m working on U-bend comprising of various separate STL surfaces. I’ve to use cut-cell mesh. For MFiX-TFM, is there best-practice for STL face resolution for accuracy, convergence?
Please let me know if you have any questions to direct me in right direction. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you,
