How to solve the following error in MFIX’s TFM 2D Fluid Bed:

I am studying different frictional models for TFM. I could successfully get results for Guo Boyce and Schaeffer Model and that too at different gas velocities. But when I changed to Srivastava and Sundaresan 2003, I am getting this error.

ERROR from time_step.f:193
DT < DT_MIN. Recovery not possible!

Hi, I have two suggestions for this:

  1. Update mfix to the latest version to have a better convergence.
  2. Try to use a large eps_f_min initially and then decrease it to the value you finally want to use.
    Hope these suggestions can work.
