dT<DT_MIN problem in MFiX-DEM simulations with heat transfer

Hello everyone,

I am trying to perform DEM simulations with heat tansfer with MFiX-24.1 software, and encounter the DT<DT_MIN problem with the energy equation. The simulations diverged at flow time of about 0.013 s, which could be seen from the monitored Bottome_pressure. It should be noted that the simulation goes well when the energy equation was turned off.

Some attempts have been made to solve this problem, including decreasing the rlaxation factor of eneger equation, increasing the residual tolerance, adjusting the soft young’s modulus, and changing the gas density from constant to Ideal Gas method. Unfortunately, the same problem still exists. All of the files are supplied.

I just wonder what’s going on and how to performe the MFiX-DEM simulations with heat transfer correctly. I would appreciate it if anyone could supply some guidance.
