Error 1000: NaN detected in Residual:Energy equation, phase (0)

Hi. Running the job here did not lead to ‘NaN detected’. But it failed to converge (DT < DT_MIN).

Note the large number of warnings.

I’m seeing a large number of this warning:

Velocity exceeds limit:   100.00

To change the limit, adjust the scale factor MAX_INLET_VEL_FAC.

and this message:

The sum of mass fractions is not equal to one.

Note that you can scroll through the messages with the arrow and TAB keys.

The MAX_INLET_VEL_FAC message has been discussed here before, it most often is due to poor mesh quality. I suggest searching the forum for MAX_INLET_VEL_FAC.

I am running DEM simulation with heat transfer and getting same error " NaN detected in residual:Energy equation, phase (0) " could you please suggest me about the possible cause of this error. my case file is attached here.

Please try to turn off the DES conduction correction to see if it helps.
