An unexpected error has occurred. Conda has prepared the above report.

404 error code means “Website not found”. The MFiX website may have been temporarily unreachable due to a network error. Please try again.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is that the conda-build was not installed. I installed the conda-build, the problem was solved.

conda-build is not necessary, I think it was just a transient network issue. I’m glad you got the installation to succeed.

I had the same problem on two different computers. So I looked up the MFiX installation issue in the forums and compared it with the conda info command and found the conda-build difference. I then tried to install conda-build, which completed and then installed MFiX successfully. This was the case for both computers. It is my personal experience.

This is very interesting!! Thanks for reporting. I think it is possible that it was just a coincidence (N=2 is not statistically overwhelming). Note that conda build is needed for building Conda packages (which we create for release to users) but not for building the solver (which is just a regular program, not a Conda package). conda build is not needed for installing Conda packages either. It’s hard to understand why lacking this package would cause a 404 error, which is much more likely due to network instability. Also, nobody else has ever reported needing conda build.

However, I don’t want to argue with your personal experience, and I’m glad you got MFiX installed successfully.

Good luck with MFiX, and please don’t hesitate to post if you have questions or problems.
