I am trying to model a bubbling 2D Fluidized bed (DEM) initialised with PSD, with the intention to transport out the finest parts. Can I monitor the particle diameter or volume fraction of what is being transported out of the domain, during the simulation?
Hi Kjetil - welcome to the MFiX forum.
If you are able to define a region that only includes the particles that are leaving the domain, then you should be able to define a monitor for that region, for mean/min/max/std.dev. of the particle diameter. Will that suffice for your needs?

Thanks, this was easier than I imagined. Would it also be possible to count a number of particles?
I don’t see a way to do this directly, but total_diameter / avg_diameter
should give you a particle count. (Maybe we should add “count” as a monitor type?)
