Generic kernel K in DEM drag force calculation

Hi, eveyone!
In the Documentation of open-source MFIX–DEM software for gas-solids flows, a generic kernel appears in the calculation of the gas–solid momentum transfer term. However, no expression about K(Xm, xk) is available. Could someone tell me its expression if the DPVM scheme is employed.
Thanks!

Hi Kai, I believe the kernel is a simple top-hat. (You can always check the source code.)

Here are some documentation pointers that may help:

https://mfix.netl.doe.gov/doc/mfix/21.3/html/model_setup/solids.html?highlight=dpvm

https://mfix.netl.doe.gov/doc/mfix/21.3/html/reference/discrete_element.html#des-interp-scheme

The keyword doc can also be accessed inside the MFIX app in the help browser (click the search icon).

The keyword doc for “des_interp_width” mentions DVPM_GAUSS but I have not been able to find any other references to this symbol in the MFiX source - it may be obsolete.

Thank you Charles. I think it is an unit normal filtering kernel. I find the similar defination from the following literature.
