Homogeneous gas-solid fluidization

Hi,
I want to model homogeneous gas-solid fluidization of fine particles with vdw cohesive forces and using periodic BC. I get the following error:

From: DESMPI_UNPACK_PARCROSS:
Error 1000: Unable to match particles crossing processor boundaries.

What is the source of such error?

Does the model run in serial?

Thanks for your reply. I tried and the problem persists in serial as well.
