Recently, I am simulating the accumulation process of the partices using DEM. I want to get a important parameter: the bulk density of the partice bed after finishing the accumulation, namely how many kilograms of particles can be held per cubic metre? However, I don’t kown that how to monitor this parameter. Could you give me some guidence? Thank you very much!
MFiX has two types of monitors, “cell” and “particle” data.
Using cell data, you can monitor the fluid volume fraction in any region, and the density of solids can be derived from this.
Or you can use particle data to monitor count or mass of particles.
