I would like to ask why, when I set the initial conditions, an error appears once the solid volume fraction exceeds a certain value. I want to set a bed height of 0.4 m with a solid particle mass of 9.7 kg. However, after adjusting the parameters, the simulation cannot run. When I reduce the solid volume fraction, it can run, but it does not meet the required simulation mass standard. What method should I use to achieve an increased solid mass fraction?Currently, the particle generation method I am using is the automatic generation in the DEM panel. The image below shows my settings.
Did you consider to set your initial bed with a lower “density”/solid volume fraction, but higher, as to have the same mass as you originally wanted? Another term for this is “fluffed”. It is not recommended to start off with a void fraction (initial considition) very close to the actual selected solid void fraction.
