Mass balance of gas-solid reaction

Hi,

For a reaction, there are two kinds of species in one particle reacting together with gas reactants. I want to know that once one of species in the particle is totally consumed, will the reaction simulated stop automatically? That is to say, is there a mechanism in MFIX to check the mass balance of reaction in one cell for such kind of gas-solid reaction. Further, how can we conveniently output mass information of species in one cell to confirm the mass balance.

Hi.

  1. If there are no reactants available, the reaction cannot proceed.

  2. You should be able to use a Monitor defined over a small region to output mass fractions and inventories.

Thank you for your reply. Do you mean that there is no automatic checking mechanism of mass balance in MFIX for heterogeneous reaction?
