Regarding to combustion simulation using MFIX

Hello there, Dose anyone have experiences regarding to high speed 2-phase reacting flow simulation? e.g. a inlet flow speed of 100 m/s. I guess MFIX should be able to simulate these relative high speed reacting flow theoretically comparing to fluidized bed. Thanks.

Are you trying to model a PC (pulverized coal) boiler? MFiX does not really have a good turbulence model. I assume that at those gas velocities, turbulence is going to be important.

thanks Onlyjus for you response. I am trying to simulator a combustor with high turbulent flow. It seems MFIX does not suitable for this case without a good turbulence model. I will go have a check again…
