I’m currently working on a project involving gasification simulations in a circulating fluidized bed reactor (CFBR) using MFIX, but I’ve encountered some challenges. I’ve been following the tutorials provided on the official MFIX website, but I’ve noticed that many of them seem quite outdated compared to the current version of the software.
I was wondering if anyone could point me towards any updated tutorials or additional resources that might be available. My main focus is performing numerical simulations related to transport phenomena in CFBR systems, and I’d greatly benefit from any material that covers the latest features of the software and how to apply them to projects like mine.
Any guidance or recommendations would be really appreciated!
The tutorials provided with the MFiX distribution (39 of them) have been updated to work with the current version. The tutorials in the source tarball in the “Legacy tutorials” are not up-to-date hence the “legacy” classification. We don’t currently have resources to update all of them, but if there’s one that you are particularly interested in, we can try to bring it up to date, or help you do so.
Thank you for your response. Currently, I am working on a simulation of a Circulating Fluidized Bed Reactor (CFBR), and I was wondering if there are any specific tutorials that would directly support this type of simulation. I’ve gone through some of the general tutorials, but I am looking for more targeted guidance related to CFBR systems.
Could you recommend any specific tutorials or resources within the updated MFIX distribution that would help me effectively set up and simulate a CFBR?
I appreciate any additional guidance you can provide.
