Simulation of slurry and rock

Hello,

I would like to solve the problem set up shown in the schematic.

Can MFiX solve this problem ? Is there any tutorial available for similar problem ?

It has 2 inlets for fluid, one inlet for rock and one exit for the slurry.

It seems like you should be able to set up this model in MFiX. Is it sufficient to model the rocks as spheres (DEM), or do you need non-spherical particles (SQP or GSP)?

Thank you.
For now we will use sphere as that will be sufficient.
Is there any tutorial available from where I can see how to setup the model? both fluid + DEM.
I have used MFiX for lot of DEM simulations of purely granular flow but need some guidance in setting up both fluid and DEM.

Did you have a look at the existing cases/tutorials? You can define your slurry in the fluids pane. This is from the DEM cyclone case.

If you’re using the GUI then that case is already bundled. Just start a new project from the menu.
