What is the difference between the liquid and gas species in fluid

I defined a reaction which the methane hydrate (solid) is decomposed into water and methane gas. In fluid panel, I set a constant fluid density and viscosity etc.

I know it is not a real three phase coupling. So I am wondering what’s the difference between the liquid and gas species in fluid. Why not treat all the fluid as gas?

Sorry, the question is not clear. In what way are the H2O and CH4 being handled differently in the fluid/gas phase?

Yes, what’s the difference in calculation?
