You did not provide the user drag routine so I switched to Syamlal-O’Brien to test and I can reproduce the failure to converge. First check your mesh and see if you can decrease the aspect ratio of the cells. It is about 15 in your setup and this is a bit high. I can get your simulation to run by switching to ideal gas law. Go to the Fluid panel, select the Ideal gas law for “Density” and select a constant molecular weight, around 29 kg/kmol.
Thank you, Jeff. I tried your method, and it works, but why can’t the fluid phase properties be given a specific value. Doesn’t that affect the results of the simulation?
