Hello researcher. I 'm doing a DEM simulation with a linux workstation. My model has 1.15 million grids and more than 2 million particles. I used DMP slover, as shown in the following figure. I want to simulate 2000 s, which will take 20-30 days. Is the calculation speed normal ? Is there any other way to improve the calculation speed ?
Yes, you should expect a 2,000s DEM simulation to take a long time. Looks like you could use more cores (it says you have 256 available when you use 96), and increase the time step. Depending on where the particles are, a different DMP partition may be more efficient to lower load imbalance.
You can also try to use MFIX-exa, which should be faster for this simulation.
