Error when meshing simple retangular cube

Hi, developers.
There were two errors when I meshed the grid, it was just a simple cuboid, and I don’t know why. Thank you for your answer. Version 24.2.1. Even with this error, you can still click Accept and enter the Modeler interface, but you can’t do that in version 23.4.

You can not expect someone save you with a rainbow cloud. You should post you case.

You don’t need to define a box as a geometry, just use the regular region, which is rectangular.

This error seems to occur only occasionally. I repeatedly checked Select facets (STL) and then Generate, then unchecked Select facets (STL) and Generate again. After repeating this several times, the error miraculously disappeared and Generate was successful, with Select facets (STL) checked, but there is no geometry stl in fact… This is the mfx file where this happens：fbr40000.mfx (15.6 KB)

I found that this error may be related to the existence of a gridmap.dat file in the working directory. When the gridmap.dat file is removed from the working directory and the Select facets (STL) option is checked and then Generate is executed, no error message is displayed. Is this a bug? @jeff.dietiker

I am not able to reproduce, but there is no reason to check the “Selects facets” box when the geometry pool is empty. We will disable the check box when the geometry pool is empty in the next release.

This Error 1100 still exist in MFIX-24.2.3. When this error occurs, return Regions pane and check Select facets (STL) in Wall boundary condition and Generate again, the error disappeared and Generate successful. This may be a general problem, as I tested on a workstation with Centos Stream 9 GNOME version 40.4.0, and on two virtual machines with Centos 7.9 and Ubuntu 22.01.2LTS GNOME version 42.5. The error occurred on all three Linux machines or virtual machines and can be solved in the same way as above. Below is the case file used for testing. Each test re-establishes the same case instead of copying it.
