Experiencing error in TFM

I checked the changes you made in the geometry. I want to clarify to you that the fluidized bed cross-section is semicircular, not circular, in my case.

The cylinder is translated so that only half of it is in the fluid region. If you actually mesh it or run the simulation, you should see a half-cylinder:

i am sorry to bother you again sir, but can you tell me step wise procedure to run the modified simulation sent by you in above message. as i have not used ‘transform’ earlier, so i am little bit confused. do i need to add the modified geometry also before running the simulation or transform one is sufficient that is there in mfix file?. I ran the modified mfix file but it shows some error also i am am not able to see any geometry in Model. can you help me please.

your simulation looks perfect , and i want to perform the same for my work.

There is a step by step tutorial to get more familiar with procedural geometry:3.10. Procedural geometry — MFiX 25.1 documentation

Are you saying you get an error when loading the set up I shared? If so, what error message are you getting?

although the simulation is completed but still i gave some error related to solver

I’m not sure why this is happening (I haven’t been able to reproduce it) but it has something to do with SMP on Windows. If the simulation is running to completion you can ignore this error. Sorry for the inconvenience.

this was working fine and it ran till completion, but as i changed the inlet velocity from 0.46 to 0.1 it start throwing an error DT<DT_MIN. i am runing this on linux smp mode

Try increasing MAX_INLET_VEL_FAC ?
(you can search the forum for this term for more info - it’s a common problem)

if we increase “Stop time” from 5 sec to 10 or 50 seconds, then doest it also causes the convergence issue? as i have to increase my simulation to 200 second but it not working.

You need to figure out why the simulation is not converging. Look at the residuals to see which residual is causing the problem. Also you may want to switch from SMP to DMP if you are running on Linux now.

If you need further help with this please attach your current simulation setup, including the LOG files. If there’s a problem with ‘submit bug report’ just create the ZIP file yourself.

A) In general please create a new forum thread for a new question as this thread is really about another issue

B) Search the forum for related questions - looking for “transfer coefficient” I found this (there are more matches as well):
