Hello, I need assistance from the community in setting up a CFD-DEM model in MFix to work on my project. I am new to MFix at the moment.

thank you.

Welcome to the MFiX community! What are you trying to model and what difficulty are you facing?

I want to a CFD model and couple it DEM to demonstrate how fouling occurs in a filter. I want to demonstrate how the fluid particles settle around the pore and builds up to block it.

Hello Sir, I am performing a simulation for ceramic membrane fouling in MFiX with a CFD-DEM model. I want know how I can increase the adhesive force of attraction between the particles in the fluid and the modeled wall.

thank you.

MFiX supports a Van der Waals cohesion model whcih can be enabled in the Solids/DEM tab. You can read more about it in the “Solids” section of the MFiX user guide. If Van der Walls model is not sufficient for your application, you will have to write custom (Fortran) code.
