Is fluid-particle heat transfer model in MFIX-DEM invoked in MFIX-PIC?

Hi, Developers,

As the title depicts, I would like to know whether fluid-particle heat transfer model in MFIX-DEM is invoked in MFIX-PIC. The relevant code is in Subroutine DES_CALC_GAMMA. In the relevant manual, it is stated that the same model is used in MFIX-DEM and MFIX-PIC. But, in the GUI, this model is specified in DEM part. So, i don’t know if this model is invoked by default in MFIX-PIC.

Prior to 21.1 release, the Rantz and Marshall correlation used to be the only option for DEM and PIC. The reference predates the 21.1 release in which 3 new Nusselt number correlations were introduced for DEM. These have not been tested with PIC and are not yet exposed in the GUI for PIC simulations. By default, PIC uses the Rantz and Marshall correlation. If you want to test the other correlations with PIC, you can set the des_conv_corr keyword manually from the Advanced pane.
