It is necessary to alter the default residuals

Hi everyone,

In ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM, users usually decrease the maximum residuals to 1.0e-5 or 1.0e-6. Is it necessary to decrease the default residuals?

It is not necessary but you can adjust them to find a compromise between speed and accuracy.

Thank you. I find most of the iteration numbers could approach or even equal to the maximum value 50, if I reduce the continuity+momentum residual by one or two order(s) of magnitude.
