Hello researchers. I am very curious about the composition of the pellets. The graphs below all contain options for the composition and proportion of biomass particles, but I don’t know the difference between them. In other words, which graph refers to the composition of a single pellet (i.e., a single biomass pellet consists of 44% hemicellulose, 55% cellulose, and 1% ash)?
Also, do the values need to be consistent when setting the ratio of the constituents in each of the two charts? I would appreciate it if this question could be addressed.
You are using the variable solids density model. The composition in the Material pane is used to set the baseline density of the particle. The setting in the BC pane is the composition of particles that enter the system. If you want them to have the same density as the baseline density, then use the same composition. Otherwise you can specify a different composition, but you must have some amount of inert species.
