TFM model, does not converge

Hi everyone,
I conducted the decomposition simulation of organic matter in MFIX21.3.2, using the TFM fluidized bed model, and the reactor was two-dimensional. When the calculation proceeded to 0.26~0.27 seconds, the time step decreased rapidly, and “DT < DT_min…” appeared. Then the calculation stops.


Later, I changed the minimum time step to 1.0e-15s and increased max_inlet_vel_fac to 1.0e5. In this case, the calculation could continue, but at 0.27s, a mutation occurred.


I tried a lot, but I couldn’t solve the problem. Can you give me some advice?

Turn off the reactions to see if this a hydrodynamic issue or a reaction issue. If it runs fine without reactions, review the reactions rates, they may be too large.
