What should be the maximum ratio of particle size to the cell size when using TFM modelling?

@jeff.dietiker @cgw
Hello,
I have a query. When using DEM, the maximum cell size for meshing should not exceed 3 times the particles size.

What is the limitation between particle size and maximum cell size when using TFM modelling?
I would be grateful if you could clarify my doubt.

i am alittle confused, maybe there is no consensus on this issue.
As far as i know,when using CFD-DEM,the reconmended ratio of cell size to particle diameter is 3~5. when using TFM, a ratio of 10 or larger is common, someone even choose a raio of 2~3 to get a better result.

Thanks. I have observed that for DEM modelling the ratio of particle to cell size cab at most be 3 times. Any value lower than this will cause convergence issue.
thanks for you suggestion @xkzhang
