When the side inlet is increased, it will diverge. Is there any way to deal with it?

Hi Lingxaio. I’m looking at this case now.

Here’s some general advice on what to do when a run does not converge from the MFiX FAQ.

You did not include log files so I have a few extra questions:

  1. How long did you have to run before you saw the failure?

  2. Did you see the failure with the side inlet as in this file, or do I have to increase it?

  3. Do you mean increase the flow rate or the size of the inlet?

Thanks,

OK, I see the non-convergence at t=0.370454s. You are also getting some warnings about maximum inlet velocity.

Velocity exceeds limit:   75.000
in cell: I =    2   J =    6   K =    7
Epg =  0.44189     Ug =  -23.461     Vg =  -48.421     Wg =   235.22
To change the limit, adjust the scale factor MAX_INLET_VEL_FAC.

Please use ideal gas law instead of constant gas density, and set a gas pressure for all ICs and BCs. It ran to completion when I did that.
