2017 NETL Workshop on Multiphase Flow Science Proceedings

The NETL 2017 Workshop on Multiphase Flow Science was held in Morgantown, WV on August 8 – 10. The Workshop brings together leaders from industry, academia, and government laboratories to discuss current projects and future R&D in the area of Multiphase Flow Science. The workshop continues to promote innovation and research into multiphase flow numerical modeling and experimentation.

There were 36 presentations and over 75 attendees. This year’s workshop covered topics such as Virtual Process Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and experimental facilities to study Lagrangian Interfacial Dynamics  at Pennsylvania State University. The new release of MFiX, featuring a redesigned Graphical User Interface, and the MFiX Optimization toolset were introduced and tutorials were provided in a special session.

The sharing of research and experience is valuable to the work of moving Multiphase Flow Science forward. We are pleased to host this event and look forward to future workshops.
