Dr. Tingwen Li presented MFiX simulations at the IFPRI Annual meeting

NETL multiphase flow science team member, Dr. Tingwen Li, was invited to attend the 39th International Fine Particle Research Institute (IFPRI) Annual General Meeting in Philadelphia on June 17 to 21, 2017. During the meeting, Dr. Li gave a talk at the special symposium dedicated to Prof. Robert Pfeffer who co-founded IFPRI in 1979. In his talk, Dr. Li presented some examples of MFiX simulations of gas-solid flows in various fluidized bed reactors. Other invited speakers at Prof. Robert Pfeffer Symposium included Prof. John Brady from Caltech, Prof. Sankaran Sundaresan from Princeton University, and Prof. Darsh Wasan from Illinois Institute of Technology. A poster entitled “Direct validation of MFiX-DEM simulations of a small-scale full-loop circulating fluidized bed under different operation conditions” by Y. Xu, T. Li, J. Musser and W. Rogers was also presented in the poster session.
