Dr. Shahnam has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of New Haven, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University. He has over thirty years of experience in modeling reacting multiphase flows, solid oxide fuel cells, CO2 capture using sorbent technology and dispersion of heavy LNG gas. His research interests include application of uncertainty quantification (UQ) techniques in multiphase flow modeling and construction of high-fidelity neural network based surrogate models for acceleration of multiphase flow UQ and sensitivity analysis.
