Yupeng Xu, Ph.D.

Dr. Xu received his bachelor degree (2008) from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and master degree (2011) from Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. In 2015 he received his Ph.D. from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands under the supervision of Prof. J.A.M. Kuipers. Yupeng’s past research experience includes numerical investigation of heat transfer inside the granular system, simulation of granular cratering with discrete particle method combined with immersed boundary method and numerical study of kinetic theory of granular flows (KTGF) on the viscosity of granular fluid. Since November 2015, he has been working as an ORISE postdoctoral researcher at the NETL Multiphase Flow Science Team. He is involved in development team of the MFIX code and focusing on study of chemical reactions inside the circulated fluidized bed reactor.
